Charlotte is the largest metropolis in North Carolina and is located outside of Gaston County, to the west just beyond the Catawba River. Charlotte visitors can reap the benefits of affordable accommodations by staying inside Gaston County with only a short drive via I-85 to gain access to Uptown.
