Happy National Farmers Market Week

Updated: Apr 28

Celebrated the second week in August 4-10, 2024, National Farmers Market Week is a great opportunity to make some time on your next adventure through Gaston County for a stop to explore and learn about how our food is produced, and also taste its bounty.

Family run for OVER ninety years, Lineberger Farms is located close to Dallas, North Carolina, along Dallas-Stanley Highway. A stop at the farm is sure to be fun for the whole family including the kiddos (of any age). The country store sells farm fresh vegetables and fruits including peaches, tomatoes and blackberries as well as other products like delicious jams, homemade baked good, peach salsa, and local honey. Grab your goodies and make the most of your time by creating a picnic for yourself at one of the covered picnic areas onsite. Afterwards take a ride on "The Sworm', spin on unique tire swings, and climb the towers of tires. This farm is loads of fun.

Another great stop is Gastonia's Farmers Market, easily accessible off exit 19 along I-85, in Gastonia. You won't see this gem from the highway, but trust us, it's there. This market has strict exhibitor policies for their farmers requiring 100% of the products be vendor grown, so you can expect the best. Here you will find a variety of the freshest, best-tasting fruits and vegetables from local farms that have been operating for years. The Gastonia Farmers Market sells produce, meats, eggs, dairy products, baked goods and fresh-cut flowers.

Mount Holly, NC

Located in downtown Mount Holly this gorgeous open air market is the largest all volunteer market in North Carolina. From the market board to those that help setup and take down the market every Saturday, it is all run by volunteers. The community of Mount Holly is extremely engaged in their market, making for an enjoyable experience for anyone who visits.
