CONTAGIOUS BLUES BAND

The Rooster has partnered with Charlotte Blues Society for a monthly residency on the 3rd Friday of each month, featuring Blues artists in the Carolina's Blues community. In March, we welcome Charlotte-based Contagious Blues Band Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. All Ages. General Admission, standing room, tickets are $17 in advance and $20 at the door. Guaranteed seating tickets are $25 in advance, these are the only way to guarantee a seat at one of our tables. BIO: Formed in the vibrant heart of the Carolinas, the Contagious Blues Band has emerged as a formidable force in the realm of Modern Blues Rock. The Band consists of founding member Junior Howell on Drums/Vocal, Darren Watts - Bass/Vocal, Rich Green on Keys/Vocal, with Charlie Baldwin on Lead/Slide Guitar and Eric Upton on Lead/Slide Guitar; Harmonica. This lineup of well-seasoned musicians brings an incredible sound and energy to the stage.  Drawing inspiration from iconic artists such as Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Government Mule, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the band masterfully weaves elements of traditional blues with contemporary rock, creating a sound that resonates with both seasoned aficionados and new listeners alike. Since 1999 Contagious Blues Band's passion for their craft has garnered them significant acclaim within the music community. They proudly clinched the prestigious Beale St Blues King Award in Memphis, Tennessee, a testament to their talent and dedication. Representing the Charlotte Blues Society, they showcased their skills on an international stage, where they performed at the IBC. Contagious Blues Band was honored to be one of the first recipients to receive a Charlotte Music Award for the Best Blues Band. Their reputation for electrifying guitar driven performances has led them to share the stage with legendary artists, including BB King, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jimmy Vaughn and many others, solidifying their position as one of the premier blues acts in the region. Currently, the Contagious Blues Band is channeling their artistic vision into their latest project. As they record their new single at Studio 26, the band is set to captivate audiences with their forthcoming release in 2026. With their dynamic sound, rich history, and unwavering commitment to the blues, they continue to push the boundaries of the blues rock genre and inspire fans from all around.
