Join us at the Gaston County Public Library's Carol K. Reinhardt Auditorium for an insightful presentation titled "The Experiences of a World War II Infantry Soldier in Europe." Al Kirby, who has lectured for 14 years at the Battleship Cove WWII Museum and initiated the museum's WWII Weekend Open House Program, will share personal accounts of U.S. Infantry Soldiers in the European Theater of Operations following D-Day. Alongside his compelling stories, Kirby will display items from his personal WWII collection. With extensive travel across Europe to study military operations, including trips to Normandy, Bastogne, and Western Germany, Kirby’s presentation promises to provide a profound glimpse into the experiences of soldiers during this pivotal time in history.
