CROWDERS MOUTAIN STATE PARK

Home of the Crusaders and part of the NCAA's Division II Conference Carolinas, Belmont Abbey College provides venues for all indoor and outdoor sporting events. Abbey Yard has undergone several renovations and upgrades including a new outfield wall and a field turf ring. There are lights for nighttime baseball games and an expanded press box. Alumni Field hosts amenities for soccer, lacrosse and field hockey. The college offers a softball field, an 11-court tennis center and the Wheeler Center, fully equipped with volleyball and basketball courts, wrestling mats and locker rooms.
This baseball stadium is home to American Legion Post 23 and the Gastonia Grizzlies, a Coastal Plain League team. High school and collegiate games also take place at the park. Grandstand and bleacher seating are available. Two outlying, lighted ballfields are also located on the property.
Located just minutes off of I-85 in Belmont, Riverside Marina and Complex offers many amenities for your outdoor sporting event. With 42 covered and uncovered slips along the Catawba River, canoe, paddleboard, kayak and pontoon boat rentals, a boat launch ramp, onsite parking and event space, this marina is a great spot for your next open water swim, triathlon or festival. Muddy River Distillery is onsite as well.
What started as a WPA project in 1922 is now a premier city park. A 1.5-mile paved walking trail rims the 80-acre lake, complete with fishing pier and boat dock. Canoes, kayaks, johnboats and pedal boats are available to rent. A clubhouse and several picnic shelters allow for group events.
Stuart Cramer High School boasts three full-size linear fields, an artificial turf stadium with an eight-lane track and field facility and lights for night games, eight tennis courts and a baseball and softball field ready for tournament play.
A true community effort, Harper Park opened in 2013 after years of local fundraisers and donations. Kids delight in the splash pad and playground. Walk along a paved track or down the nature trail. Sports offerings include two baseball fields and volleyball and basketball courts.
Access the Catawba River via canoe, kayak or boat from this 10-acre riverfront park. Kids enjoy the playground, while visitors of all ages like fishing from the pier. Additional amenities include an amphitheater, walking trail and picnic shelter.
A popular place for picnics, the park has four shelters. Visitors make use of the playground, dog park, walking trail and skate park. Three baseball fields and one multipurpose field are lighted. The Tuckaseege Community Center contains Mount Holly Fitness Center and courts for basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer.
344 acres, seven miles of nature and hiking trails and several sports facilities, George Poston Park in Gastonia is a great location for outdoor sporting events, featuring four softball and baseball fields with metal halide lighting for night games, a beach volleyball court and four lighted linear fields, all with groomed hybrid Bermuda grass. There are two picnic facilities with covered shelters and a fishing lake. Near the picnic shelters is a 10-mile, single-track mountain biking trail. The newest addition is the first asphalt pump track in North Carolina, 10,000-sq.-ft., accommodates 20-30 users at once and can be used for anything with wheels.
This 100-acre park provides a broad assortment of facilities, including walking and jogging trails, a one-mile track, three fishing lakes, softball and baseball fields, and tennis courts. The equestrian area has a show ring and 124 stalls. A heritage village showcases local farm life in the 1890s.
Tailrace Marina is located on the Catawba River in Mount Holly. Located across the Catawba river is the U.S. National Whitewater Center. There is a wide array of services offered including kayak, paddleboard and pontoon boat rentals, boat slip leasing with 191 public and private, covered and uncovered varying in length from 20 to 28 feet. J.R. Cash’s Grill and Bar is onsite as well.
Two peaks - Crowders Mountain and Kings Pinnacle - provide challenging terrain for hiking, rock climbing, bouldering and backcountry camping. Mountaintop views stretch 25 miles. Eleven hiking trails vary from easy to strenuous. Wet a hook in the nine-acre lake or rent a canoe.

The centerpiece of the 40-acre park is a hand-built single-track mountain biking trail for intermediate and advanced bikers. The trail is approximately five miles with a pump track located at the beginning. Multiple bridges cross creeks along the trail, which include challenging climbs and features.
18 hole par 71 municipal course playing 6,447 from the back tees. The course is quietly nestled along the winding Catawba Creek Watershed. The soft rolling hills, wooded terrain and bent grass greens create a beautifully groomed golfing facility.
This 48-acre, collegiate-level park in Gastonia houses four fenced baseball and softball fields and four regulation linear fields, all equipped with hybrid Tifway Bermuda grass, automatic irrigation systems and metal halide lighting for night games. Also featured are two-story climate-controlled towers with telephones, enclosed dugouts, electronic scorekeeping equipment and water fountains. The facilities contain aluminum bleachers with 300 seats at each field, concessions and nearby restrooms. Three miles of hiking trails are accessible for cross country runners.

The Warlick Family YMCA at Robinwood Lake is a private, non-private organization that is committed to helping you live a balanced, healthy life in spirit, mind and body that sits on a beautiful 118-acre campus with a scenic 34-acre lake, right in the backyard. They host events such as the P3: Pace Paddle Power, that includes a 2-mile trail run on the Sytz Trail System, a lake paddle, and boot camp field challenges.
With a campus of 1,300 Acres, the U.S. National Whitewater Center hosts events year-round. Their amenities include whitewater rafting channels with Class II - IV rapids, flatwater access on the Catawba River, climbing, ziplines, rope courses and 30 miles of mountain biking & running trails.

Located in downtown Cramerton, Goat Island Park is a spacious 30 acres situated along the South Fork River. It's named after textile engineer Stuart Cramer who facilitated the exponential growth of the town and released goats on the island to control vegetation as early as 1910.
