Charlotte, NC Area Self-Guided Kayak & Tube Rentals
Catawba Kayak Co is a kayak and tube rental company that will meet you at one of our pre mapped-out drop-off points. We offer different kayak types and river tubes to use on the scenic & historic Catawba River, South Fork River, or one of the area lakes! (Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake, Lake Wylie)
We have multiple exploring options including areas on all 3 lakes, and a slow-flow area of the South Fork River where you can drop-in and exit at the same location (good for paddling without or with very little current), or we have a few River Routes. Since we do not have a shuttle service (yet), the River Route options will require you to have a 2nd vehicle placed at the exit point, so you can get back to your car at the original drop-off point.
Our different kayaks are all 10′ single person boats (for now) suitable for all ages 10 and up. (max weight 250lbs) We have both sit-in & sit-on top kayaks of different colors to choose from. Each kayak rental comes with a PFD vest (personal floatation device) and a paddle sized for your height.
Our different tubes are all 45″ single person tubes made specially for the river with enhanced puncture resistance, and a grab rope to hold onto a friend! Suitable for all ages 10 and up. (max weight 200lbs) All our tubes are the same, but we have different colors to choose from. Each tube rental comes with a PFD vest (personal floatation device).
Get outside and explore the beautiful rivers, lakes and wildlife that our area has to offer! We love our area and we hope that by offering this service, we will bring more interest and pride to the beauty and cleanliness of our waterways! Choose from one of our sit-in or sit-on kayaks to paddle down the historic and scenic scenic & historic Catawba River, South Fork River, or one of the area lakes! We will supply your kayak, paddle & a life vest. Or if you prefer to float downstream on a slightly rocky, slow-flow stretch of the river in a tube instead, we’ve got you covered for a more lazy day experience in the sun. We have multiple pre mapped-out routes along the Catawba River & South Fork River, or same in/out access points on the lakes so that you get a new experience each time!
