Bringing the iconic work of Ashley Bryan to the stage to celebrate both literacy and Black History Month, "Beautiful Blackbird" is a short and beautiful story sure to touch all.





Murder on the Orient Express

Haid Theater

February 8 - 18, 2024

The passengers are a crochet of glamourous misfits all with their own reasons for being on the train. . . During the ascent up the mountain on the way to London, the train is struck by a snowdrift, and without warning, the train becomes stuck in its tracks. Immediately following the abrupt stop, a murder occurs. Detective Hercule Poirot assumes responsibility for solving the case. This all boils down to one question. "Who committed the murder and why?" For that, you will have to purchase an all expense paid trip on the Orient Express to find out the shocking conclusion.

Bright Star

The sweet Bluegrass musical which captured Broadway's heart heads out on tour. Written by comedian Steve Martin and multi-Grammy Award-winning songwriter Edie Brickell, Bright Star is a winsome delight of a show, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Its story centers on a romance between a war veteran and a newspaper editor, who witness their community's long held traditions giving way to modernity. Bursting with fiddles and banjos, Bright Star may have a gentler pace than Broadway's usual blockbusters, but it packs just as powerful a punch.

Christian McBride is the Artistic Director of the historic Newport Jazz Festival, New Jersey Performing Arts center (NJPAC), the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. McBride is also a respected educator and advocate as the Artistic Director of Jazz House KiDS, and the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Summer Sessions. In addition to consistent touring, McBride hosts NPR's Jazz Night in America and The Lowdown: Conversations With Christian on SiriusXM. Whether behind the bass or away from it, Christian McBride is always of the music. From jazz, to R&B, pop/rock, hip-hop/neo-soul, to classical, he is a luminary with one hand ever reaching for new heights, and the other extended in fellowship—and perhaps the hint of a challenge—inviting us to join him.

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth–the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Gershwin's jazz-infused Rhapsody in Blue with your CSO and acclaimed pianist Michelle Cann alongside the composer's energetic An American in Paris. Cann will also perform Florence Price's spirited Piano Concerto in One Movement -- a work she has championed.
