Drums 4 Life

Gaston County Public Library
Celebrate Black History Month with this performance by Drums 4 Life. Drums 4 Life is an African drumming troupe that combines music, history, and hands-on healing. This is a free program for all ages at the Main Library. No registration is required.
Presentation Local Heritage

Kings Mountain Historical Museum
This free event by Lisa Mozer, Ed.D., will reflect on her historic hometown and share early childhood memories of growing up in Statesville, NC. This presentation will includes details of collaborative efforts to gain recognition for five African American landmarks in this once segregated community.
African Dance Workshop
February 25th
Gaston Senior Center
Join us as we Celebrate Black History Month with the West African Dance Workshop, facilitated by Aminata Creations BoutiKafe'. Participants at the event will learn the history, song, movement, choreography and staging of a dance from Guinea or Senegal. They will also showcase what they learned in the Bantaba -open circle for solos! This workshop is FREE, but they highly suggest registration. Open to older teens, adults, and seniors.
