Join us for the Butterfly Release Experience on Wednesday, June 24 at 11:30 a.m. at The Gardens at Stowe, as part of Pollinator Week Programming. This exclusive event is designed for ages 12 and up (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) and has a $5 fee, along with general garden admission or membership. Participants will engage in a special behind-the-scenes experience, helping to welcome and release new butterflies into the Butterfly Bungalow. You’ll sit among hundreds of free-flying butterflies, carefully open protective envelopes, and witness the butterflies acclimate to their new home. Some will take flight immediately, while others might take a moment to stretch their wings, making each release unique. To enhance this intimate event, the Butterfly Bungalow will be closed to the public, allowing for a focused experience. The actual release lasts about 15–20 minutes, with a total of 30 minutes allocated to relish this magical moment. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to ensure a timely start. Participants must wear provided latex-free gloves and remain seated for the safety of the butterflies. Please note that the experience is subject to the timely arrival of our weekly butterfly shipment, and delays or cancellations may arise. Tickets can be purchased online or at the front desk while supplies last. Don't miss this rare opportunity to engage in butterfly care and welcome our newest winged residents!
