Beyond the Pillars For centuries, maps warned travelers not to venture beyond the known world. Beyond the Pillars takes its inspiration from that ancient idea: not simply as a journey across geography, but as an exploration of the landscapes that exist both around us and within us. Featuring the work of the artists of Awaken Gallery, this exhibition explores the many ways we cross boundaries: through travel, cultural exchange, personal transformation, faith, memory, loss, discovery, and creativity. Inspired by experiences during travel but also alongside journeys of introspection and self-discovery, these works reveal that some of the most meaningful voyages take place within the human spirit. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the artists invite viewers to look beyond what is familiar and venture into new perspectives, cultures, and ways of understanding themselves and others.
