VISIT THE FARMS IN GASTON COUNTY
In spring, step into a strawberry patch and pick ripe, juicy berries. Come summertime, look for vine-ripened tomatoes, homemade salsa, squash and blueberries. Fall is a fun season as pumpkins turn bright orange and farmers gather the last produce before frost. For an extra treat, find a farm that offers hayrides and corn mazes.
GASTON COUNTY FARMERS MARKETS
Gaston County’s farmers markets have become community gathering spaces where customers can interact with farmers. Some feature live music, chef demos and kids’ activities. The markets not only stock fruits and produce, but also include locally raised meat and dairy products, homemade breads and pastries, and bouquets of fresh-cut flowers.
