Whitewater Center
The Whitewater Center is a non-profit outdoor center situated on more than 1,100 acres of woodlands along the Catawba River, is dedicated to promoting the active, outdoor lifestyle. Alongside mountain biking and running trails, a climbing center, zip-lines, flatwater and whitewater kayaking, high rope courses, and a canopy tour, the facility’s most unique feature is a multiple-channel, customized whitewater river for rafting and paddling enthusiasts of all abilities.
The Whitewater Center is proud to be a U.S. Olympic Training Site that provides outdoor recreation for families, outdoor enthusiasts of all ages, casual observers and Olympic-caliber athletes. Take a professionally guided ride down class II-IV level rapids or try whitewater kayaking. Flatwater kayaking, canoeing and/or stand-up paddle boarding for those of you who like to take it slow. Thrill seekers can also enjoy rock climbing, a canopy tour or one of our zip lines. 20 miles of trails are available for hiking, mountain biking, walking or running. Rental equipment available.
