Facility Tours

• Facility tours & tastings are Saturdays at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Entrance is facing the river under the black awning, next to Riverside Athletic Club.

• Walk-in tastings are only Tuesdays-Fridays 11am-5pm and Sundays 12:30pm-4pm.

• Returning guests: Bring your MRD logo shot glass for free admission to our tours only on Saturdays!

About the tours

Muddy River Distillery is located in Belmont, NC along the banks of the Catawba River. We are the oldest legal rum distillery in the Carolinas and do everything in house including ferment, distill, age and bottle our products. We would love to show you around our facility. 21+ only please- No pets per the FDA. Guests must take a tour in order to taste or buy our products, due to NC law. There is no “just tasting”. We do not serve food, but would be happy to recommend local restaurants that carry our products or restaurants near your home. The facility is minimally climate controlled so please dress for the season. This is an indoor tour. We also have private tours for groups of 15+.

• No Reservations Required - Check in about 10 minutes before start time. Please be on time. ID is required.

• Tour & Tasting= $8.00 for 30-45 minutes, including a shot glass and samples of our products.

• Guided tour includes a brief background of Muddy River Distillery, how rum is made, and a tasting and description of 6 of our products.
