Free & Low-Cost Experiences at The Schiele Museum
The Schiele Museum of Natural History in Gastonia is offering free and low-cost programs in 2026, thanks to the support of generous community partners. Families, students, and curious minds of all ages can explore hands-on STEM learning, nature adventures, and interactive museum experiences throughout the year.
Free Tuesdays Powered by Duke Energy are back! On the second Tuesday of each month, visitors can enjoy free admission from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, making it the perfect evening to explore exhibits, stroll the nature trail, or experience the planetarium at no cost.
New this year, the Explorer’s Outpost, sponsored by Enbridge Gas NC, invites nature enthusiasts of all ages to engage with plants, animals, and habitats through hands-on activities and guided exploration. The Outpost is included with regular museum admission.
Young learners can also enjoy Kid’s Quest Afterschool Adventures in the Curiosity Lab, sponsored by Bank of America. This interactive classroom space supports workshops, field trip experiences, and hands-on experiments. Limited spots are still available for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year.
