New at South Point Access Park: What You Need to Know Before You Go

South Point Access Park is becoming a favorite spot for locals and visitors looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the Catawba River in Belmont. This 68-acre recreation area, tucked away at 175 Boat Launch Road, offers just about everything you need for a day outdoors—boat ramps to get out on the water, two spacious fishing piers, a swim beach for cooling off in the summer sun, picnic pads, and plenty of parking.

New This Year:
Parking Fee Begins July 1Beginning July 1, South Point Access Park will implement a parking fee to help maintain the facilities and enhance visitor services. Between 8 AM and 3 PM daily through Labor Day, the cost is:
$7 per vehicle
$20 per bus
Please note: The park is cashless—credit or debit card payment only.
Good to Know:
Boat traffic is free—you will not be charged to launch a boat.
If you have a shelter reservation, parking remains free for you and your guests. Just provide the name of the reservation at the guard shack upon arrival.

Park Hours
Spring Hours (April 1 – October 31): 6 AM – 9 PM
Winter Hours (November 1 – March 31): 6 AM – 7 PM
Swim Beach: Open Memorial Day through Labor Day
Park Rules Highlights
No alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or controlled substances
Pets welcome on a leash (6 feet or shorter), but no animals are allowed on the beach
No skateboards, bikes, or skates on sidewalks, shelters, beach area, or fishing piers
Parking only in designated areas
Soliciting or selling is not allowed without a permit
