The Phillips Community Center is located on 36-acres in the southern sector of the City. Erected in 1966, this Community Center was named for former Mayor Vic Phillips who was instrumental in promoting recreation for the citizens of Gastonia. The building houses a full-size gymnasium, game room, kitchen and staff office.
