Join us as we celebrate the 244th Anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mountain at the Encampment Weekend. Enjoy a variety of demonstrations, children's activities, guided battlefield walks, weapons presentations, and much more.
To truly immerse yourself in the history of Kings Mountain, partake in a guided Lantern Tour. held on the battlefield Saturday October 5, from 7:00Pm to 8:00PM. Reservations are required for the lantern tour; please call 864-936-7921 ext. 3 for reservations or stop by the visitor center. These events are free.
On October 7th their will be a Wreath Laying Ceremony at US Monument and arrival of the Overmountain Victory Trail Marchers. The Overmountain Victory National Historical Trail follows the footsteps of the Patriot soldiers from Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina who rallied together to defeat a group of British loyalists at Kings Mountain.
