Kim, Kathleen and Gene all shared a love for art early on in their lives, taking time away – sometimes years - for work and family life, then later returning to painting to express how they see the world. Here, on canvas, they weave together three divergent styles, the meticulous clarity of realism; the lush, light-filled brushwork of impressionism; and the emotional resonance of semi-abstraction. They remind us that a landscape is more than a place. It is a feeling, a record of time, and a living dialogue between the land and the observer. Spanning over 60 works of varying scales, this exhibition fills the galleries at Southern Arts Society with the beauty of our natural world.
