The trail runs through wetland, part of the athletic fields at the school and forest. The trail helps to connect Belmont and Cramerton. EXPLORE Meadowwood Walk at DSBG Natural Surface Easy 0.6 mile loop A short walk around the back of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. EXPLORE Persimmon Trail at DSBG Natural Surface Easy 3.2 miles Discover 3.2 miles of walking trails around the Garden! Persimmon Trail, located off the parking lot, is a short trail that connects with the Carolina Thread Trail. Maintained by the Carolina Lands Conservancy, the Thread Trail meanders along Lake Wylie and connects with Meadowood Walk. EXPLORE Duke Kimbrell Trail Natural Surface Moderate 2.6 Miles One Way This trail meanders along the shoreline. The trail connects to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Visitors can continue along the back side of the parking lot along the Boulevard Trail and can then pick up on the Worrell Trail. The Worrell Trail connects back to the Seven Oaks Preserve Trail and finishes the loop. Visitors do not have to pay the garden to walk on their trails. Bicycles are allowed on the Seven Oaks Preserve Trail BUT NOT ALLOWED on the garden's trails. Please do not ride in wet conditions. EXPLORE Belmont to Cramerton Sidewalk Connector Sidewalk Easy 1.3 Miles Starts at Stowe Park in Belmont and connects almost to Cramerton. Users take Eagle Road and follow the sidewalk until it stops in front of Pinebrook Swim Club. CRAMERTON GREAT STORIES SPECIAL EVENTS TRAILS EXPLORE CRAMERTON Cramerton is a small town located in the Greater Charlotte area of North Carolina, inside Gaston County nestled along the South Fork River to the south of and in between Belmont and McAdenville. Visitors can access Cramerton and all it has to offer via I-85 off of 26 through Belmont or exit 23 by traveling through McAdenville. Highway 74 also runs just north of town and straight into Charlotte if you are looking for a more scenic route. Enjoy this .6 mile greenway (1.25 out and back round trip) which is wheelchair and stroller friendly. EXPLORE Goat Island Greenway Paved Easy .7 Miles One Way The Goat Island Greenway is .7 miles of paved surface trail, including two pedestrian bridges that go over two sections of the South Fork Catawba River onto Goat Island Park. EXPLORE Riverside Greenway Paved Easy 1.3 Miles One Way This trail winds along the bank of the South Fork River. Walkers, runners, and bikers will enjoy exercising along a variety of surface types, including pavement, boardwalk, and community sidewalk. The trail ends at the Southern Railroad overpass where you can make the loop around a clearing and walk back to the trailhead. Check out the 11 Mills Blueway Trail for detailed information on where to launch, dock and make stops along the way. Whitewater Whitewater rafting and kayaking high-energy rapids are also available for those who like to challenge themselves on class II-IV whitewater. At the Whitewater Center a professional guide will show you the way to lead your raft down the world’s largest man-made, recirculating whitewater river.
