Stanley is a small town in Gaston County, North Carolina. You can reach Stanley by heading north out of Mount Holly on Hwy 27 or taking Hwy 275 to the east out of Dallas, NC.

Brevard Station
Named for Stanley’s original train depot, Brevard Station, covers the evolution of transportation since its advent. Exhibits include information about the textile industry, our military, gold mining history and the discovery of a rare magnolia by French botanist, Andre Michaux.


Stanley, North Carolina actually had its beginning in the middle to late 1700’s. Some of the early settlers made their first homes along the banks of a small creek named Stanley’s after the name of an gold prospector. This congregation of settlers quickly began being referred to as the Stanley’s Creek Community and existed over one hundred years before incorporating as a town.

Join us for this family fun event! Country Fest begins on a Friday evening in early October and ends Saturday on Main Street in Downtown Stanley. Country Fest includes carnival rides, live music, food and local vendors.
