The Ella May Wiggins Memorial in downtown Bessemer City honors the life, labor organizing, and legacy of Ella May Wiggins, a local textile worker and labor activist. The colorful mural also celebrates the tens of thousands of textile workers, their families, and descendants who helped shape Gaston County’s strong industrial and cultural heritage.
