Is there anything better than Christmas in a small town? To help you celebrate the holidays, we’ve put together a list of all the upcoming holiday events in Gaston County.
Que the sleigh bells then sip hot chocolate as the holiday season begins in Christmas County this year. Christmas County includes all our holiday events, parades and shopping markets as well as ice skating and snowless sledding.
The biggest event during Christmas County, shining brightly every day through the season is Christmas Town USA, in McAdenville. Touted as one of the best public lights displays in the US here is what you need to know to make the most of your visit to see these lights.
Now thru Dec 31 | Kings Mountain
Park on South Battleground Ave and enjoy a synchronized light show with music playing from the radio in your car! Tune-in to Radio Station 87.9 to enjoy the show. Then, take a stroll through Patriots Park where over a million lights transform the park into a storybook wonderland full of color and light! It's a festive display that will remind you of Christmases long ago. This family favorite attraction is dedicated to Katie and Grady Costner who originally designed the lights.
November 26 – January 3 | Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden
Another favorite of Christmas County is Holidays at the Garden at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Stroll through the garden along the “Mile of a Million Lights”, discover enchanting fairy villages, model trains, and more. Soak up the season’s cheer with marshmallows roasted in a roaring fire and dipped in hot cocoa.

The event will feature time period related crafts, letters to Santa, old fashion candy will be for sale in the General Store, live Christmas music, s'mores around the fire, pictures with Father Christmas "Santa", candle dipping, kid's games with the Dallas History Museum, and a horse carriage ride!
Dec 11 | Lowell
Join us for our Annual Christmas Parade! We will have some sweets and concessions vendors downtown across from City Hall! Afterwards, join us downtown near the City's Christmas tree for some caroling!
Dec 15 | Stanley
Parade starts at Carothers Funeral Home and ends at Stanley Middle School.
Dec 16 | McAdenville
Each year, residents and visitors follow the Yule Log which is pulled by children on a sled through town to Legacy Park located on Elm Street in downtown McAdenville.
