Volunteer Trail Day
at Crowders Mountain

Join the Friends of Crowders Mountain for a fantastic volunteer work day during the National Trails Day celebration at Crowders Mountain State Park. The event will commence at the Boulders Access in Kings Mountain, NC, at 8:30 AM, with refreshments and an opportunity to meet the trail crew leaders. Volunteers will then break into groups for trail maintenance activities until noon. Water, snacks, work gloves, safety glasses, insect repellents, and tools are all provided. Remember to dress appropriately for outdoor work and bring any necessary medications. Stay for a delicious lunch courtesy of the Friends of Crowders Mountain, Inc., with the FOCM, Inc. Board meeting to follow. Take part in this special event and contribute to preserving Crowders Mountain's trails while enjoying the camaraderie and satisfaction of volunteer work.

Pharr Yarns 4-mile Hike

Experience the beauty of McAdenville on the Pharr Yarns Family 4-mile Hike, presented by the Carolina Thread Trail. Join us on June 3, 2023, at 9:00 AM as we embark on this exciting adventure, beginning at the newly developed section of the Pharr Yarn Family Trail (formerly known as the South Fork Trail) and journeying to Cable Point before returning. Along the way, Ashton Lamb, the Thread Trail Community Coordinator, will provide insightful details about the latest developments and highlights of the Thread Trail in eastern Gaston County.
Later in the afternoon, the Pharr Yarns Family Trail will officially open its doors to the public. This 1.5-mile gravel and paved greenway in downtown McAdenville promise to offer a delightful outdoor experience for individuals and families alike. As for the previously named South Fork Trail, it boasts a natural surface and features a relatively flat terrain, ensuring an enjoyable hike for all participants.
