This 4th of July, come celebrate in and around Gaston County! Many of the cities are celebrating with fireworks and live music, while other venues are saluting our nation with unique Independence Day themed events. Run in a red, white, and blue 5k race, splash it up at a local pool, or take in a play themed around the Revolutionary War. Here is a list of some great ways to enjoy time with family and friends this holiday. Don't miss the fun!
Mount Holly Fireworks Celebration
June 30th | Downtown Mount Holly
Mount Holly is celebrating this year by combining their downtown concert series with a 4th of July celebration! DJ Johnny B kicks off the festivities at 6 pm. Come grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks while your kids play in the Kids Zone and adults enjoy the Beer and Wine Garden. Coming Up Brass takes the stage at 7pm, followed by a fireworks display!
Cherryville's Independence Day Celebration

Join us for an incredible night beginning with Jim Quick & Coastline accompanied by DJ Johnny B. Then find the perfect seat inside Rudsill Stadium to enjoy one of Gaston County's largest Firework Displays.
Journey Back in Time
July 1–17 | Joy Performance Center
Joy Performance Center comes to life as theater goers find themselves time traveling to the days of the American Revolution. From the pen of playwright and novelist Robert Inman comes this compelling historical drama Liberty Mountain, the story of the hardy, resourceful people who settled the Carolinas, and their crucial role in the winning of American Independence. The immersive production features larger-than-life battle scenes, cutting edge special effects, and handcrafted costume pieces that will transport you back to the Revolution.

July 1–4 | Schiele Museum of Natural History
A visit to the Schiele Museum this weekend will have you doing an exploration into fireworks. Learn how they work, what kind of can be found in space, what are natural fireworks, and even see a dissection of one.
4th of July Weekend at Veronét
July 1st – 4th | Veronét Vineyard
Make the most of the extended hours (Friday-Monday) at Veronét Vineyard, a 70-acre estate with five acres of stunning vineyards and breathtaking views. This holiday weekend will be a great time to visit as they will have a Zinfandel release, Piña Colada "Star Spangled" slushies, "Let Freedom Bling" mimosas, and a food truck.

Spend your 4th of July Weekend with Blue Heron Adventures, the recreation arm of Catawba Riverkeeper. The Boathouse is open this weekend Saturday, Sunday and Monday! Celebrate the Fourth of July on the water. Wear red, white or blue and get an ice pop!
The Great American Crawl
July 2nd | Downtown Historic Belmont
Gather your friends, rock your red, white and blue, and get ready for a day full of star-spangled shenanigans and festivities with thousands of your closest friends. A digital map of all the locations will be provided so you can find great American drink specials, patriotic party favors, live music, DJs, and bands along the crawl. Let's show some real American pride at this year's Great American Crawl in Belmont.
Town of Cramerton Independence Day Celebration
July 2nd | Cramerton Centennial Center
Be on the lookout for a big red balloon at Goat Island Park around noon on Wednesday, June 29th. This large red balloon will show visitors where they can see the fireworks display on Saturday. If you can see the balloon, you should be able to see the show!
Red, White & Belmont
July 2nd | Stowe Park
Gather your lawn chairs and blankets, and arrive early to grab a good seat for this memorable event in Downtown Belmont. They'll have fireworks, great food, cold drinks, and a rockin' concert! The evening will kick off with the opening of the beverage garden and DJ. Festivities will continue through the evening, including a live concert on the upper field of Stowe Park by Java Band. Make sure to stick around after the concert for spectacular fireworks.
Red White and BOOM!
July 2nd | Kings Mountain
Kings Mountain is hosting Red White and BOOM at Patriots Park with their unrivaled fireworks display and music that syncs to the show and can can be enjoyed from a radio. Whether you choose to celebrate from Patriots Park or the nearby walking track, Red, White and BOOM, will be a blast.
Tread, White & Blue Trail Race
July 3rd | Whitewater Center
Ready, set, GO! Run to Whitewater Center for the Tread, White & Blue trail race. Three colors, three courses, one big twist. Choose from red, white, and blue to determine your 5K route!
Fourth of July Celebration
July 3rd - 4th | Whitewater Center
Celebrate the holiday outside at the Whitewater Center. The festivities span over two days include live music, races, multiple yoga practices, and more. PLEASE NOTE: This event will no longer feature a fireworks display on Sunday, July 3rd or Monday, July 4th, 2022.
Great American Splash
July 4th | Cramerton
This event will be a unique way to celebrate this holiday: a day packed full of fun at the local community pool. There will be games for kids of all ages, music, and loads of fun in the sun!
Fourth of July Celebration
July 4th | Rotary Centennial Pavilion, Gastonia
Come have a blast at the Rotary Centennial Pavilion in downtown Gastonia! Enjoy patriotic music as you shop local vendors, grab a tasty treat from a food truck, and enjoy the entertainment including the free Kids Zone. Bantam Rooster performs from 6 - 9:30 pm followed by fireworks lighting up the summer night sky and closing out this spectacular evening.
July 4th | Farmers Market in Mount Holly
Dress in your best 4th outfit while the kids decorate their bikes, then head to the Mount Holly Farmers Market to be in this year's Everyone Parade. Afterwards, stay for the farmers market where you can shop for amazing produce from local growers and fun products offered by local vendors.
Honey Hunters Games
July 4th & 5th | Downtown Gastonia
Come out to see the Honey Hunters play the High Point Rockers at CaroMont Health Park on July 4th and 5th! In addition to baseball and fireworks, they will have other fun events including the delightful Monkey Cowboy Rodeo and a chance to win free Sun Drop for a year! Wow!
